BLUES SWEEP TRENT IN FIRST OF BACK-TO-BACK

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team beat the Trent Excalibur 3-0 on Friday (Feb. 2) evening in Peterborough, Ont. 
 
Set scores in the match were 25-12, 25-20, 25-10.
 
The Blues dominated offensively, finishing the game with 35 kills compared to the Excalibur 20, while recording 30 assists to Trent’s 18. On the defensive end, the Blues finished the game with 37 digs compared to the Excalibur’s 25.
 
Outside hitters Julia Murmann and Giulia Chimilovski led the Blues scoring a team-high of eight points. Murmann tallied her points from eight kills, while Chimilovski recorded six kills and two aces.

First-year setter Anna Arellano led the Blues offensively with 19 assists, with libero Delaney Watson recording 11 digs in the match.
 
Natalie Fournier led the Excalibur this evening, recording a team-high nine points from seven kills and two service aces. 

The Blues will return to action on Saturday, February 3 when they return to Peterborough, Ont., to take on the Trent Excalibur in their second game of the back-to-back series. First serve is set for 2 p.m. The action will be live streamed online via oua.tv.
