COACH ADAM SCHRIEMER

“Silas starts the next generation of Schalk men’s volleyball players at TWU. Silas comes to us from the prestigious NAVC club, where he is currently playing as both a setter and an opposite. At 6-foot-6, Silas can impact the game in many ways. He is an elite server and blocker and he can also set up his offence as a setter and spiker. Silas is one of those can’t miss prospects and we cannot wait to see him in Spartan blue soon.”

SILAS SCHALK

“I chose TWU because of its incredible culture and prestigious volleyball program. I can’t wait to continue my volleyball career as a Spartan.”

Ben Bransdma

COACH ADAM SCHRIEMER

“We are extremely excited to add Ben to our team next season. Ben has grown up in our backyard and is a local Christian kid who understands what it means to be a student-athlete at TWU. He is no doubt the type of guy we want on our team. What makes Ben great is his skill and versatility. He is an elite defender and passer but also a crafty spiker. We look forward to seeing Ben develop in our program for the next five years.”

BEN BRANDSMA

“I chose TWU as a university because of its Christian foundation and I will continue to grow in my faith while I’m there. Additionally, I get the opportunity to play in a high-level volleyball program that embraces unity, fosters strong community and is competitive. I’ve had many family members and people I respect that have gone through TWU who have had great experiences so there’s strong history there. I’m looking forward to starting this new season in my life at TWU as a Spartan.”

COACH ADAM SCHRIEMER

“Willem comes to us from a volleyball factory at Langley Christian School. What I love about Willem is his versatility. He can impact the game in so many different ways, whether it’s as a setter, outside, or libero. His ability to play all positions will sure serve our program well in the future. Along with his unique skill set, he is also a great leader and teammate, which makes him exactly the type of prospect we are looking for.”

WILLEM VAN HUIZEN

“I chose TWU because I felt it was the best program for me to reach my goals. I’m excited to join the Spartans next fall.”

Finn Brandsma

COACH ADAM SCHRIEMER

“We are so excited to receive Finn’s commitment. We love players who come to us with a volleyball background like Finn has. He is the youngest of three brothers who have played U SPORTS volleyball, so he is very comfortable around the sport. Finn has an elite arm and is a physical blocker, which are two important skills that are transferable to our league. We cannot wait to have Finn join us next fall.”

FINN BRANDSMA

“My goal has always been to go to Trinity Western ever since I started watching U SPORTS volleyball. As I’ve learned more about the school, I’ve developed a love for the community as well as the volleyball program. I chose TWU because of the amazing training environment that the players and coaches create and so that I can grow as a volleyball player and in my spiritual life”

Zach Hofer

COACH ADAM SCHRIEMER

“We are so excited to receive Zach’s commitment to our program. Zach comes to us from a volleyball family and we love having athletes like Zach who grew up playing volleyball. With Zach’s parents working in our department and brothers Brodie and Tyson playing on the team, it has felt like Zach has always been part of our Spartan family. We are now thrilled to officially welcome Zach to our program. As an outside hitter Zach can spike with incredible range. Being still in Grade 11, it’s not common to see a player score in as many ways as he does. He has an incredible toolbox as spiker, which helps him score in many different ways. Zach also stands out as a server. He has a unique hybrid serve that causes trouble through either max velocity or change of pace variations. Zach’s serve and spiking is well beyond his years.”

ZACH HOFER

“Trinity is my home and the Spartans are my family. I can’t wait to join the program and become a Spartan on the court.”
