SPARTAN MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | PIERS DE GREEFF

LANGLEY, B.C. –Trinity Western Piers de Greeff (Victoria, B.C.) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after helping the No. 9 Spartans earn a weekend split with the No. 2 Alberta Golden Bears this weekend in Edmonton. The outside hitter finished the weekend averaging three kills per set while hitting at .326 over the two-game series
 
On Friday night the rookie had 12 kills while hitting at .400 with four digs and 12 points to help lead the Spartans to a 3-1 (25-20 18-25, 25-20, 25-22) victory over the Bears.
 
On Saturday night the human kinetics student had another 12 kills, hitting at .261 with eight digs, three blocks, and 13.5 points in TWU’s 3-1 (17-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-19) loss to Alberta.
 
The weekend split leaves the Spartans at 4-4 and in third place in Canada West with 14 points.
 
TWU will have a weekend off before returning home to host the Saskatchewan Huskies on November 24 and 25. With match times set for 7 p.m. (PT) and 6 p.m. (PT). Both games can be seen live on Canadawest.TV.
