Duncan Petrie, Volleyball

If Duncan Petrie plays as he did on Friday at less than 100 per cent, opponents should take note.
The Canadian Mennonite University Blazers right side picked up nine kills, three aces, three blocks and six digs in a 3-0 sweep of the Université de Saint-Boniface Les Rouges. Petrie is the MCAC male athlete of the week.
The Blazers won the rematch on Saturday to stand alone atop the men’s volleyball standings at 4-0.
“Duncan has been battling knee issues and we have been holding him back a bit but on Friday against USB we let him loose and he played brilliantly,” said Blazers coach Don Dulder.
“He had three aces and served the opposition out of system 67 per cent of the time. He led the team with nine kills and had an incredible 64 per cent kill efficiency. Duncan has worked very hard on his rehab and has come a long way back. When healthy he is a dominant force. He will do anything to help the team do well.”
The Blazers visit the Providence University College Pilots (2-2) this Saturday while Les Rouges (0-4) visit the Assiniboine Community College Cougars (2-2).
