WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL: LAKERS DROP TWO 3-1 DECISIONS ON THE ROAD AGAINST WESTERN

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Nipissing Lakers women’s volleyball team dropped a pair of tough matches on the weekend, falling 3-1 both Friday and Saturday to the Western Mustangs.

The matches wrapped up the first half of the season, where Nipissing finished with a 3-3 record.

On Friday night, the Lakers dropped the first two sets, losing 25-19 and 25-23 before winning the third 25-21.

Western put the match away in the fourth, winning 25-19 to claim the victory.

Oceane Raymond-Leduc led the Lakers offence with 12 kills, while Anna Marie Horvat added eight in the match.

Saturday, once again, Nipissing dropped the first set, losing 25-14, but responded right away, winning the second 25-23 to even up the match.

Western claimed the next two sets, winning 25-20 and 25-22 to sweep the weekend.

Raymond-Leduc had another great offensive effort, posting 16 kills, while Horvat added nine in the contest.

Nipissing will be back in action in January, as they host McMaster their first weekend back.
