Olsen named to CW All-Rookie Team

CALGARY – Daisy Olsen of the University of Calgary Dinos women’s volleyball team has been named to the Canada West All-Rookie Team, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon.

In her first collegiate season, Olsen made an immediate impact with the Scarlet & Gold. Her 237 kills in the regular season ranked 11th in Canada West and 17th in the entire country this year. She finished her first year with a team-high 258 total kills, 152 digs (third most), 40 total blocks (third), and 28 service aces (second). She was also just one of three Dinos to play all 99 sets on the year this season. 

The Airdrie, Alta. product tallied 10-plus kills 13 times as a rookie. She led the team in kills nine times and posted a pair of double-doubles in helping Calgary to a 13-11 regular-season record and a seven seed in this year’s conference tournament.
