MCAC announces women’s volleyball schedule for 2023-24 season

The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) is pleased to announce the volleyball schedule for the 2023-24 season. Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) Les Rouges is in pursuit of third consecutive women’s title and Providence University College (PUC) Pilots are defending champs in men’s competition as four squads via for the championships in the upcoming year.

The conference regular season begins with two matches on Friday, November 3. Canadian Mennonite University (CMU) Blazers plays at home versus PUC Pilots with women starting at 6 p.m. Central Time (CT) and the men at 8 p.m. CT plus Assiniboine Community College (ACC) Cougars host USB Les Rouges at the same start times.

The 2024 MCAC Volleyball Championship will be hosted by Providence on February 24 and 25 weekend in Niverville, MB. The semi-finals (1st seed vs. 4th seed; 2nd seed vs. 3rd seed) will occur on Saturday, February 24 with women’s matches start time of 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. CT with the men’s contests at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. CT. The Championship final will be the next afternoon with women’s starting at 1 p.m. and men’s start time of 3 p.m. All Championship matches will be held at the Community Resource & Recreation Centre.

The MCAC volleyball champions will earn a berth to the 2024 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Volleyball National Championship. The women’s are hosted by Red Deer Polytechnic Queens held from March 6-9 while men’s are hosted by Camosun College Chargers on March 7-10.

 

Dates to remember for 2023-24 MCAC Volleyball season

November 3-4: Regular season opener weekend

February 16-17: Regular season final weekend

February 24-25: MCAC Volleyball Championship weekend

March 6-9: CCAA Women’s Volleyball National Championship

March 7-10: CCAA Men’s Volleyball National Championship
