Kensington Volleyball Camp

 

Tuesday August 25th to Friday August 28th

 

Grade 7-9:  9:00 am to 12:00 pm – $100/person

 

Grade 10-12:  1:00 pm to 3:00 pm – $80/person

 

The camp will focus on individual skills including:

 

Overhand Serving

Attack

Blocking

Passing

Defense

Setting

 

Please email rcyounker@gmail.com  to register for the camp.  Registration fee will not be collected until the first day of camp.

All registrants MUST be members of Volleyball PEI in order to attend the camp.

 

Lead Instructor:  Richard Younker

 

Richard Younker brings 20 years of coaching experience to the camp.  He is an advanced development coach who has coached at the junior high school, senior high school, club, and university levels.  A two time VPEI coach of the year winner, Richard has had tremendous success coaching the Kensington Torchettes women’s volleyball team, reaching the provincial finals seven times, winning the AAA championship in 2017.

 

Special Guest Coach:  Rick Scott

 

Rick Scott has been head volleyball coach of the Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball team for the past 12 seasons.  His accomplishments are tremendous, winning 8 consecutive AUS championships.  He has won the AUS coach of the year on three occasions and was named the USport coach of the year for the 2016-2017 season.  Rick brings a wealth of experience in player development to the camp.

 

Assistant:  Maddy Rogers

 

Maddy has been an elite player on PEI for the past five years.  She has won Vollyeball PEI’s athlete of the year on multiple occasions and has represented PEI twice at the national club championships.  A three time AAA women’s PEISAA all star, Maddy is now a member of the Holland College Hurricanes volleyball program.

 

COVID-19

 

The Kensington Volleyball Camp will adhere to all of the guidelines outlined in the Phased Return to Volleyball document.  This will include, but not be limited to:

 

Frequent hand washing.

Frequent sanitizing of equipment.

All participants and coaches will follow physical distancing protocols.

Participants will be screened at the start of each session.

Change rooms and water fountains will be off limits.
