King named first-team all-star for second straight year

BURLINGTON, Ont. – Ontario University Athletics (OUA) announced the men’s volleyball award winners and all-stars on Tuesday, with TMU’s Alex King earning all-star status for the second straight season.

King was named a First-Team All-Star for a second time in his career after another strong season on the court. After changing positions from middle to right side, King took no time to adjust to his new spot on the floor. His 259 total kills and 3.65 kills per set both ranked him fourth among all OUA players, while his 667 total attacks made him the second-most set player this season. With the move to right side came a defensive adjustment, but King slid in nicely and picked up 129 digs which ranked seventh in the province. His impressive totals didn’t stop there, as he was a consistent threat from the service line, picking up an eighth-best 23 aces this season.
