Canada’s U19 Women complete round robin play at World Championship

August 7, 2023: Canada has wrapped up round robin play at the Girls’ U19 World Championship, taking place Croatia and Hungary until August 11.

Canada went 0-5 through the Preliminary phase, dropping matches against Brazil, Italy, Bulgaria, Peru, and Thailand. Canada is now one of eight teams that will compete in the playoffs for the 17th-24th places. Their first playoff match is against Chile on Monday, August 7 at 21:00 (3 pm ET) local time and they will have two more games after that to finalize their position in the event.

Abagayle Guezen has led the Canadians so far in points (53) and blocks (eight).
