Women’s Volleyball falls to McMaster

The Lancer women’s volleyball team fell to the host McMaster Marauders 3-0 (6-25, 8-25, 14-25) in a rare Wednesday afternoon contest in Hamilton.

GAME FLOW
The blue and gold struggled with their service return in the first set. The Marauders opened the game with seven straight points and never looked back, taking the first set 25-6.

The second set was almost a mirror of the first as the Marauders continued to dominate the service line and gain a substantial lead at the technical, 16-5. Windsor was unable to come back from the early deficit and fell 25-8.

In the third, the Lancers started out stronger and kept the game within points early on. McMaster again went on a run midway through to build another lead, but the Lancers did not give up and held off a Marauder victory late in the set. In the end, the hosts just needed a few points to take the game and match, 25-14.

UP NEXT
Windsor will return home for a pair of games against the Lakehead Thunderwolves. Game one is scheduled for 6:00pm on Friday, March 5th, with game two following on Saturday, March 6th at 1:00pm. The Lancers will honour their graduating seniors on Saturday prior to the start of the game. Tickets are available at goLancers.ca/tickets and the game can also be seen live at oua.tv.
