VB: Senior review

On Saturday, Feb. 19, join the Mount Royal Cougars in celebrating our men’s and women’s volleyball graduating seniors at their 5 and 7 p.m. games, respectively against the Grant MacEwan Griffins! Get your tickets in advance here and check out the incredible accomplishments of our seniors below:

Men’s Volleyball:

Middle, #8 Mark DeWit!
The MRU Cougars would like to congratulate Mark on his two years with the team. From Lacombe, Alberta, Mark joined the Cougars from the Red Deer Kings ACAC Volleyball team. Playing just one regular season with the Cougars, Mark has earned 32 kills and 46.5 points across 39 games! We look forward to seeing Mark cross the stage this year with his Bachelor of Business in Marketing and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Congratulations Mark!

Outside Hitter, #7 João Pedro Neto Freire!
From Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Joao joined the Cougars from the Medicine Hat Rattlers ACAC Volleyball team. Over the past 4 years, Joao’s contributions to the program can’t be properly captured with statistics. His willingness to do anything and play any position for the team speak volumes of his character & the person he is. In the Spring, Joao will cross the stage with his Bachelor of Business in General Management and a minor in Human Resources. Congratulations Joao!

Women’s Volleyball:

Outside hitter, #15 Nicole Bourget:
From Edmonton, Alberta, Nicole joined the Cougars from the Renegade Royals Volleyball Club! This season, Nicole has tallied 15 spikes, 18 kills, and nine digs! We look forward to watching Nicole cross the stage this year with her Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing. Congratulations Nicole!

Libero, #5 Nataliia Klimenova:
Originally from Severodonetsk, Ukraine, Nataliia joined the Cougars from team “Universitatea” Cluj- Napoca in Romania as well as team Orbita in Ukrainian Women’s Volleyball Super League. In 3 seasons Nataliia has accumulated 213 spikes, 180 assists, 614 digs! Later this year Nataliia will cross the stage with her Bachelor of Health and Physical Education majoring in Sport and Recreation Management. Congratulations Nataliia!
