U SPORTS announces three Cougars teams in national top 10

Today, U SPORTS announced their latest top 10 rankings, with three Mount Royal teams earning spots in the leaderboards.

MRU men’s volleyball team held onto their sixth spot in the latest U SPORTS top 10. The 10-6 Cougars came away with a split over the weekend with the fourth-ranked Saskatchewan Huskies, winning 3-2 on Friday and then falling 3-1 on Saturday. Mount Royal’s women’s hockey team remained as the second overall team in the country in the latest U SPORTS rankings. The Cougars defeated the Manitoba Bisons twice with a 5-2 win on Friday followed by a 2-1 victory on Saturday. After two commanding victories, the Cougars men’s hockey team regained their fifth overall spot. Friday’s tilt saw a 9-0 blowout victory over the Manitoba Bisons. Mount Royal followed their huge win with another shoutout result, prevailing 3-0 over Manitoba. Next weekend MRU heads east for a mini-series against the Regina Cougars.
