BURLINGTON, Ont. – Ontario University Athletics (OUA) announced the women’s volleyball award winners and all-stars on Monday, with a trio of Bold players picking up conference recognition.
Middle Ashley Ditchfield was named a First-Team All-Star after another standout season on the court. Ditchfield recorded 84 total blocks to lead all OUA players while her 196.5 total points ranked 17th. Her efficiency was also on display with an impressive 0.297 hitting percentage this season. This is the third straight season Ditchfield has earned all-star status.
Fifth-year outside hitter Lauren Veltman was also named a First-Team All-Star after racking up the points this season. Veltman averaged 3.5 points per set this year, ranking seventh in the OUA, while her 197 kills also ranked seventh. She was a reliable source of offence for the Bold, hitting at a 0.252 efficiency to sit eighth in the conference. This is her fourth all-star nod in her career.
Setter Sarah Zonneveld made a splash this season for the Bold, becoming one of the more reliable setters in the conference, and earning Second-Team All-Star status in the process. Zonneveld finished third in the OUA with 596 assists, which also ranks fourth most in a single season at TMU. She added 153 digs this season to rank 16th among all players, showing her defensive responsibility as well. This is the first conference recognition for the third-year player.
