SPARTANS TAKE DINOS IN FOUR

LANGLEY, British Columbia– The No. 1 Trinity Western Spartans remained unbeaten as they defeated the visiting Calgary Dinos 3-1 in Canada West women’s volleyball action Friday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. The 25-15, 25-13, 22-25, 25-10 win improves the Spartans to 5-0, while the loss drops the Dinos to 3-2.

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Ryan Hofer
“We focus on our side of the net and make sure that we are crisp in how we managed our block lineups and how we were making them play. Calgary is a good team who can swing on the ball, so we wanted to make sure we could put some pressure on them.”

“Calgary started to play better in the third set and took advantage of our errors. We needed to stay aggressive all the way to the end and force the game to be played at a higher level. We faltered in the third set, but got back to our game in the fourth where we want to win all three phases of the game.”

NOTABLE
• The Spartans are 34-36 lifetime against the Dinos.
• Trinity Western has not lost to Calgary since February 3, 2018 when the Dinos prevailed 3-2.
• TWU last lost at home, 3-0, to Calgary almost six years ago, November 5, 2016.
