Spartans close out regular season in top spot

The Trinity Western Spartans remained the top-ranked team in the U SPORTS women’s volleyball Top 10 after sweeping the Brandon Bobcats in a two-game series last week. TWU (22-2) is spending its twelfth straight week atop the table.

No. 7 Dalhousie (17-3) and No. 8 Waterloo (16-4) are the biggest movers of the week, jumping into the Top 10 after sweeping their opponents last week.

There was no movement among the top five teams, as Brock (18-2) and Mount Royal (19-5) remain at No. 2 and No. 3, while No. 4 UFV (18-6) and No. 5 Western (17-3) also held steady. No. 6 Winnipeg Wesmen (18-6) and No. 9 UBC Thunderbirds (18-6) moved up one spot from last week, while No. 10 Saint Mary’s (15-5) fell two spots down.

Playoffs get underway in all four conferences this week, highlighted by a Top 10 matchup in the Canada West quarterfinal series in Abbotsford, B.C., between the No. 4 Cascades and the No. 6 Wesmen.
