3 Things

1: Throughout the weekend, the WolfPack will be playing in support of the ‘I Believe You’ project. The ‘I Believe You’ project is a collaborative work created by TRU’s Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Manager and the Kamloops Sexual Assault Counselling Centre. It is a student-driven movement created by and for students, to create sexual violence prevention programs for communities across TRU’s campus.

2: Fraser Valley enters the weekend riding a seven-game winning streak, the longest current streak in the conference.

3: There will be hot food being served inside the TCC all year long. Kid’s Club presented by McDonald’s is also back, featuring muffins, yogurt and colouring sheets.

Weekend Story

KAMLOOPS – Back in Kamloops and ready to face the UFV Cascades, the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women’s volleyball team is set for a pair of crucial clashes this weekend.

Hosting the Cascades (11-5) at 7:15 p.m. on Friday and 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, the ‘Pack (7-9) games will be immensely important in a tight Canada West playoff race. The WolfPack are currently just one behind the eighth place UBCO Heat for the final postseason spot with eight games left to play.

It was a difficult test for the ‘Pack last weekend, as they travelled to Mount Royal for a pair of games against the No. 4 ranked Cougars. The WolfPack acquitted themselves well on Friday, nearly pulling off the upset before falling 3-2. With UBCO hosting the perennial powerhouse TWU Spartans this weekend, the games against the Cascades could very well vault TRU up the standings.

Fraser Valley completed a weekend sweep of the MacEwan Griffins last weekend, winning both games by identical scores of 3-0. During their current seven game winning streak the Cascades have gone 21-5 in set scores.

The Cascades came out on top in all four regular season games the two teams played last year, though two of those four games went to five sets.

By The Numbers

4.25: Gabrielle Attieh of the Cascades is leading the conference in kills-per-set.

181: Brooklyn Olfert leads the ‘Pack with 181 kills so far this season.

64: No team in the conference has played more sets than the WolfPack.
