Windsor, ON – A night after taking down Windsor in 4 sets, the Mustangs fall in 3 sets to the Lancers on Saturday night.
Both sides would trade shots throughout the midway portion of the opening set with Windsor holding an 18-16 lead which forced Western to take their first timeout, this was quickly followed by a couple of additional Lancers points which made the Mustangs take their second timeout to try and shut down the Windsor pressure. The Lancers would continue to showcase their power and take the opening set 25-19.
The close competition continued to start the 2nd set, which saw both sides tied for most of the early stages of the frame, seeing 8-8, 9-9 & 10-10 scores. Windsor would move into the lead in the latter half of the set to hold a four-point lead at 22-18 and would finish out the set with a 25-19 win and the second consecutive set win to lead 2-0.
Once again both sides traded points early on in the 3rd set, keeping the scores tight. The score would be tied at 15-15. After the midway break, the Mustangs made a push which led them to a 20-16 lead. Like most of the night though, Windsor would battle back themselves and would tie the game at 21-21, move into the lead and eventually the 25-22 set win and the match win.
