The Lakers managed to stay alive for two more points, but the Marauders came out in top, 25-20.

The second set started out close, but it didn’t take long for the Lakers to find a five-point lead, 9-4. Despite this, the Marauders started to close the gap and managed to tie it back up at 10-10. The teams exchanged points but the away team dug deep and make kills to earn themselves a small lead. McMaster reached set point first again, at 24-19, and closed out the set 25-19 with a kill from Mills.

The Marauders, now holding a two-set lead, found the first three points of the third set. Mid-set, Thomas Williams made impressive three service aces, helping the Marauders to a 13-8 lead. McMaster held onto a lead for most of the set, with the Lakers fighting to stay alive in the game. Mills came through with a killer service ace, bringing McMaster to their 23rd point. Despite Nipissing’s best efforts, the Marauders came out on top with a confident 25-19 score.
