The York University Lions women’s volleyball team stayed consistent from start to finish Friday night in Peterborough, Ont., taking a 3-0 straight sets victory over the Trent Excalibur.
The Lions found themselves down by five in the final set, but a late rally secured the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- York took the first set in a dominant performance despite the travel time to Trent.
- The second set saw York continue to carry the play. The Lions had Olivia Kim and Jessica Reynolds as offensive catalysts, keeping control of the play with powerful kills from the left flank. The set ended 25-14 with York earning a stranglehold on the game.
- Trent received their most notable offensive boost of the game in the third set, taking a five-point lead. That was until Amarai Endes managed two consecutive points to turn the tide at 16-12. The Lions then rode their momentum to take the lead 22-21, and never looked back from there.
LOOKING AHEAD
York will look to keep up this form when they continue their road trip and face the Guelph Gryphons at 1 pm Saturday, Feb. 4.
