QUICK FACTS

York

  • Due to a postponed game against Trent, the Lions will try to shake off the rust when they face No. 4 Toronto.
  • However, their most recent games against the Rams may have kept them loose. In the last two games, the Lions have played 10 sets against the Rams. Both their games, a win and a loss, went the distance in a well-played doubleheader between the two teams.

Toronto

  • After losing the opening game of their season 3-0 at Queen’s, Toronto wasn’t entirely cemented as one of the OUA’s best. But they’ve run the table since, and roll into York University’s Keele campus on a seven-game win streak.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

York

Andrew Tauhid: His 31 points against the Rams was a team high and a season high for York … Now fifth in the OUA in kills per set … Appeared in 17 games and 52 sets in 2019-20 … Ranked 16th in the OUA and second on the team with 3.1 points per set and also had 1.21 digs per set, good for fourth on the Lions

Toronto

Mitchell Neuert: Averaging 3.13 kills per set, Neuert ranks eighth in the OUA. His 3.8 points per set has him tied for seventh in the conference … Named the Varsity Blues athletes of the week for the period ending Feb. 20.
