Glynn and Vallee earn OUA All-Star nods

A pair of Warriors from the women’s volleyball program were honoured by the OUA on Wednesday afternoon after tremendous seasons with the black and gold.

Sarah Glynn (Fredricton, NB/) continued her dominant play with Waterloo earning yet another accolade by the league. After being named the 2018 OUA West Rookie of the Year, and 2019 OUA West Player of the Year, Glynn followed it up with yet another stellar season earning a spot on the 2021-22 OUA West All-Star list.

Glynn finished the modified season with 148 kills and 3.44 kills/set, both good for the second most in the OUA. Glynn also led all players in aces with 21 giving her the most points of all players in Ontario with 178.5. Glynn now has 665 kills in her three seasons with the Warriors, inching closer to all-time leader Claire Mackenzie who put away 907 in her five years with the Warriors.

Joining Glynn as an all-star was another powerful left side Mackenzie Vallee (Waterdown, ON/) who was named an OUA West Second-Team All-Star. Vallee was clutch for the Warriors in many games, fishing the season with 76 kills and 1.77 kills per set and had an impressive hitting percentage of .230. She was also stellar defensively with 109 digs, the 12th best in the OUA.

Glynn will be an important piece for the Warriors next season while Vallee completed her final season in style with the all-star recognition.
