Gaels continue to dominate in stellar performance over Marauders

KINGSTON, Ont. (Jan. 26, 2024) – Queen’s Women’s Volleyball defeats McMaster in 4 sets (25-13, 15-25, 26-24, 25-21) Friday night at the ARC.

In the opening set, Queen’s capitalized on errors made by the Marauders, unleashing powerful hits that left their opponents scrambling. McMaster exhibited a stronger performance in the second set, securing a 25-15 victory. The third set unfolded as a hard-fought contest, ultimately tipping in favor of Queen’s. With the crowd fueling their momentum, Queen’s demonstrated dominance in the fourth set, achieving a decisive win to seal the match.

Hannah Duchesneau led the Gaels offensively with 17 kills. Mary Stewart showcased her skill set with 9 kills and 3 aces, while Lauren Mellon added 9 kills and 2 aces to the scoreboard. Shea Baker also made significant contributions with 3 aces of her own. On the defensive front, Amanda Siksna dominated the net with an impressive 7.0 blocks

With the victory, the Gaels improved their record to 12-2 on the season. Queen’s is set to face the Marauders once more tomorrow, Saturday, January 27 at 6:00 P.M, at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC).
