Falardeau Powers Blues to Sweep

It was a strong ending to 2021 for the Varsity Blues as they defeated the Trent Excalibur in straight sets.

It was a strong ending to 2021 for the Varsity Blues as the No. 6 men’s volleyball team defeated the Trent Excalibur 3-0 (25-12. 25-20, 25-22) in Peterborough.

TORONTO STATS:  Evan Falardeau had double-digit kills for the second time this season, leading all scorers with 12 kills. The Stratford native powered the Blues with four service aces to finish with 16 points.

The middles were flawless this afternoon with neither committing a hitting error. Jakson Paterson got four kills on seven attempts, while Jasper Neale had six kills on eight swings.
First-year left side Tevin Blackmore had a career-best five kills.

Rookie setter Davis Young got his first start as a Blue and led both teams with 24 assists. Libero Daniel Tudor had five digs and helped the offence with four assists.

After a home opener loss to the Queen’s Gaels, the Blues have rattled off three straight victories and head into the holiday break with a record of 3-1.

UP NEXT: The Blues will be back in action in the new year on Saturday, January 8 as they take on the Nipissing Lakers at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.  First serve is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and will start at the conclusion of the women’s game.
