SPARTANS GET ROAD WIN OVER TRU WOLFPACK

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia – The Trinity Western Spartans improved to 6-0 in preseason non-conference play with a five-set win over the Thompson Rivers WolfPack Friday night at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops, B.C. The 22-25, 25-17, 23-25, 26-24, and 15-12 win improves the Spartans to 2-0 in the WolfPack Invitational tournament.

“The biggest take away from tonight’s match is that we weren’t in a mindset, and headspace ready to compete against a quality Canada West opponent. That caused our play to be really up and down, and really inconsistent. I think the challenge we are learning this weekend is how we have to find a consistent mindset that can help us be ready to play, multiple matches in a row.”
 
“I thought as the game went on; we were pretty clean in the terminal serve area. We were able to get a lot of results based off lots of different variations. But I think the biggest lesson today is we have to learn how we play best together, and how we can compete at a higher level consistently.
 
UP NEXT
The Spartans will finish of the tournament tomorrow evening when they take on the RMC Paladins. Match time is set for 5 p.m. at the Tournament Capital Centre. TWU begins Canada West conference play on October 18-19 when they travel to Edmonton to take on the MacEwan Griffins.
