For the second day in a row, the Lancer women’s volleyball team went the distance against the Toronto Varsity Blues. Unfortunately, like Friday, the blue and gold dropped a 3-2 (31-29, 25-18, 21-25, 21-25, 18-20) decision to the visitors.
With the two losses, the Lancers fall to 7-8, while the Blues improve to 5-8.

For the second straight game, Aliah Admans led the way for the hosts with 19 kills, and 14 digs. Emma Shepherd contributed 17 kills and a team high 19 digs, while Jordyn Brearly had 10 kills. Nicole Woelk put up 44 assists and 11 digs, and Sam Loshushan had 16 digs.

GAME FLOW
The opening set was a mirror to Friday’s night’s contest with the two squads going toe-to-toe, point-for-point. The trend continued late into the set, with the Lancers eventually pulling out the 31-29 win.
The Lancers carried their momentum from the end of the first set into the second, controlling the floor, and forcing the Blues into a timeout at 15-8. Toronto re-grouped briefly, but the Lancers went on to win the frame 25-18.
In the third set, it was the Blues turn to come out with all cylinders firing. The Blues built a 15-6 lead before Windsor began chipping their way back into the game. The Lancers got the game to within 3 points, 24-21, but the Blues stole the final point, sending the game into a fourth frame.
This set was similar to the third as the Blues took an early lead and the Lancers found themselves playing catch-up. Again, Windsor was within a few points but the Blues pulled out the 25-21 win.
The fifth set was similar to the first with the teams literally trading points up until the end. With the Blues up by one, the Lancers served the ball close to the line that the officials deemed out giving the visitors the victory.
