WVB RECAP: Gryphons Fall to TMU in Regular Season Finale; Guelph to Enter OUA Playoffs as No. 6-seed

GUELPH, Ont. – On Saturday night (Feb. 17), the Gryphons women’s volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat to Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) in a game that served as the regular season finale for both playoff-bound teams. Set scores were 14-25, 14-25 & 21-25. With the loss, the Gryphons finish the 2023-24 regular season with a record of 12-8 and head into the OUA women’s volleyball playoffs (unofficially) as the No. 6-seed in the conference.
 
** Please note, the OUA will be confirming all playoff seedings within the next few days**
 
TMU, meanwhile, finishes the regular season with a record of 15-5, and will (unofficially) enter the 2024 OUA women’s volleyball playoffs as the No. 4-seed.
 
Saturday night’s matchup at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre marked the second meeting in as many nights for the Gryphons and TMU, with TMU winning in straight sets on Friday night in Guelph. Following the game on Saturday night, the Gryphons honoured Sam Ingleton, as the lone graduating member of the Gryphons women’s volleyball roster in 2023-24.
