Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Nipissing Lakers women’s volleyball team has had a tough schedule lately, facing a number of nationally ranked teams.

The latest was a tough road trip to face the Brock Badgers in St. Catherines.

The Badgers sit as the OUA’s only undefeated team and defeated the Lakers twice, 3-1 and 3-0 as both teams begin the second half of the season.

In the opening match of the weekend, the Badgers went up 2-0, picking up a 25-12 win in the first set and a 25-15 in the second.

The Lakers fought back, extending the match with a big 28-26 win in the third, but the Badgers managed to put the match away, sneaking out a 25-22 win in the fourth set.

Amy Connelly led the Lakers attack with 10.5 points, while Paige Owen added 10 in the match.

Sunday, the Badgers proved to be too much for the Lakers, sweeping them – claiming wins of 25-13, 25-21 and 25-14.

Owen once strong once again, posting 11 kills and 13 points in the match.

The Lakers will look to get back into the win column as they return home for a pair of matches against the Trent Excalibur – hitting the court Friday and Saturday at 6pm.
