Box Score Coming off a tough loss Friday night, the Nipissing Lakers women’s volleyball team was looking to bounce back Saturday afternoon.
Closing out the weekend against the McMaster Marauders, who won their first matchup of the weekend, Nipissing was hoping to flip the script.

The first set didn’t start the way the Lakers wanted, despite battling back early on.
Down by a handful, Nipissing battled back to close the gap to 9-6, but that’s as close as they would get throughout the opening game.
McMaster stayed comfortably ahead, leading 22-12 before claiming the win, 25-16.
In the second, the Lakers kept McMaster in check and trailed by just one early on, down 10-9.

McMaster began to pull away late, up 20-17 as they look to go up 2-0 in the match.
While Nipissing did manage to outscore McMaster 7-6 to end the second set, the Marauders have built enough of a lead to come away with a tight 26-24 win and go up 2-0 in the match.
The third set, unfortunately was much of the same for the Lakers, who fought to stay in the match, but came up short.
Down 13-8 early, Nipissing fell behind 18-11, eventually falling in the third set, 25-13 and dropping the match 3-0.
