WolfPack add standout setter Meldrum for 2022-23 season

KAMLOOPS – Head coach Chad Grimm of the Thompson Rivers WolfPack women’s volleyball team is pleased to announce the commitment of BC Provincial team setter Libby Meldrum for the 2022-23 season.

“I am super excited to have someone of Libby’s quality join our program,” said Grimm, who is entering his eighth season as leader of the ‘Pack. “Libby came highly recommended through her high school coach Kathy Finch – mother of former WolfPack standout Kendra Finch – as well her coaches involved with Team BC.”

The five-foot-ten product of North Vancouver is a member of the under-18 BC Provincial team who also excels in the classroom, having earned honours with distinction at West Vancouver Secondary.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to play post-secondary volleyball at TRU,” said Meldrum. “One of the highlights of my high school career was coming to Kamloops for tournaments. The campus, athletic facilities and team culture have made my decision to join the WolfPack an easy one.”

Alongside starring at the provincial and high school level, Meldrum also plays for BCO Volleyball Club and has the potential to grow into yet another top player for the WolfPack according to Grimm.

“I think Libby not only brings a high level of volleyball experience and athleticism to our program but has the work ethic and leadership skills necessary to be a successful setter,” said Grimm. “Really looking forward to working alongside Libby as she develops into one of the premier setters in our league.”

A multi-sport athlete in high school who competed in basketball and track & field as well as volleyball, Meldrum will join a WolfPack program in 2022-23 that is currently on the hunt for their fifth playoff appearance in the last six seasons.

“I’m excited to compete in Canada West under the guidance of Coach Grimm and I can’t wait for the 2022-23 season,” said Meldrum.
