The Warriors men’s volleyball team was back in action this week following almost 3 months away from the court. Waterloo came away empty handed in a pair of losses to Guelph but showed some fight along the way.
On Thursday night in Guelph, the Warriors fell in three sets (23-25, 17-25, 20-25) with Liam MacArthur (Cambridge, ON) and Bennett Newell (Brussels, ON/) leading the way with eight and seven kills respectively. Nolan Spencer (Kitchener, ON/) finished with six kills while chipping in with three blocks. Setting up the attack was Colm Guyn (Lethbridge, AB/) who had 24 assists in the match.
On Saturday, the two met up again at the PAC with this battle going the distance. Unfortunately for Waterloo they fell short in the fifth set by a score of 15-8.
MacArthur once again led the Warriors attach with 17 kills and two blocks while Spencer put down 11 and added one block. Guyn collected 35 assists while Newell led the way defensively with eight digs.
Waterloo will be back in action this weekend with a pair of afternoon road matches. First at Windsor on Friday followed by McMaster in Hamilton on Saturday.
