Volleyball Canada announces PUSH as its Official Strength Training Wearable partner

Volleyball Canada has announced a partnership with PUSH, a Toronto-based sports technology company that helps coaches plan, track, assess, and improve athlete performance off the court. PUSH will now support elite level strength training for Volleyball Canada athletes.

PUSH technology has been utilized by the men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams for over three years and they have been thrilled with the results. By expanding the PUSH partnership, Volleyball Canada can help form a complete objective picture of an athlete’s performance off the court. PUSH works with hundreds of national and pro sports teams across the globe, creating strong athlete engagement by quantifying performance in the weight room or remotely.

“The ability to support and monitor athletes remotely and in our daily training environments is a major advantage of the PUSH system,” said Kerry MacDonald, Volleyball Canada’s Director of Sport Science, Medicine, and Innovation. “It’s an additional tool for our staff to assist athletes in reaching their potential.”

The PUSH PRO system includes a cloud-based software interface, a wearable which is worn on the athlete’s arm, and an app which empowers coaches and athletes with real-time access to programs, performance data and progress.

PUSH perfectly aligns with Volleyball Canada’s strategy of offering set technology solutions to help its athletes improve performance, underpinned by a platform dedicated to teams and athletes.

“It’s a forward-thinking partnership, which gives Volleyball Canada’s national teams the access to best-in-class technology and provides athletes and coaches vital information for strength and conditioning,” said Robin Guy, Volleyball Canada’s Director of Partnerships and Governance.

PUSH Chief Executive Officer, Paul Schiffner, is excited about the potential for Volleyball Canada to support its athletes with the premier data-driven strength training technology on the market.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Volleyball Canada, as they have been leaders in finding new ways to use PUSH technology in a remote training setting,” Schiffner said. “The potential for more Volleyball Canada athletes is huge as they will now be able to access and optimize their performance on and off the court.”
