The Gryphons will now prepare for the first of their postseason competitions with the 2024 OUA Track & Field Championships taking place this weekend at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse in Windsor.
Gryphons Women’s Hockey – No. 3
For the University of Guelph’s women’s hockey team, who hold their position at No. 3, this past weekend was a success despite splitting their games against the Windsor Lancers to close out the regular season. The Gryphons captured home-ice throughout the OUA playoffs thanks to a 3-1 Friday night. Now the U of G team will once again host the Lancers in game one of their best-of-three playoff series, this Wednesday evening.
Gryphons Wrestling – No. 7
The U SPORTS wrestling rankings return for the final time this season, with both the Gryphon men and women’s teams dropping places following the OUA Championships. The Gryphon women fall from No. 5 to No. 7 while the U of G men went from a tie with the Western at No. 6 to a tie with Concordia for No. 7. Next up for the Gryphon wrestling teams is the 2024 U SPORTS Wrestling Championships, which they will host on March 2 at the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre.
Gryphons Men’s Volleyball – No. 10
Finally, the Gryphons men’s volleyball team stays put as the No. 10-ranked team in the nation following a dominant weekend with back-to-back wins over the TMU Bold. The Gryphons finish the season with a 15-5 record and hold 4th-place in the conference, meaning they will host the 5th-seeded Windsor Lancers this Saturday in their quarterfinal matchup of the Forsyth Cup playoffs.
