U SPORTS announces vaccination requirements for participants attending National Championships

U SPORTS announced Thursday that effective November 8, 2021, all participants will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

U SPORTS announced Thursday that effective November 8, 2021, all participants will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a valid basis for an accommodation prior to arrival at any U SPORTS national championship event.

All participants (student-athletes, coaches, team support staff, athletic therapists/team medical staff, officials, event staff, technical delegates, event medical staff and travelling team delegates) must either:

  • Be fully vaccinated (14 days after their second dose of a two-dose, or their only dose of a one-dose, Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine series)

    OR

  • Provide a valid basis for an accommodation (i.e., a reason which falls within a protected ground of discrimination under applicable human rights legislation)

prior to arrival at any U SPORTS National Championship event (inclusive of any ancillary events).
