The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team defeated the Windsor Lancers 3-1 in an exhibition match in Oakville on Friday (Oct. 13).
The Blues lost the first set to Windsor 20-25, but won the following three sets 29-27, 25-19, and 25-20 as the Blues generated and maintained momentum.
The game showcased a distinct strength of this season’s roster, with setters Michael Hickey and Davis Young’s distinct setting skills masterfully complementing each other.
With the remarkable setter combo and the Blues positive and hard-working energy, the men’s volleyball team appear to have a promising season ahead.
The Varsity Blues will continue their preseason matches on Friday (Oct 20.) evening at the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport versus the TMU Bold. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. with tickets available at varsityblues.ca/tickets.
