Top-ranked Spartans and No. 2 Cougars on CW collision course

The Trinity Western Spartans remained the top-ranked team in the U SPORTS women’s volleyball playoff power ranking after sweeping the Winnipeg Wesmen in a two-game semi-final series last week. TWU (22-2, 4-0) is spending its 14th straight week atop the table.

The Queen’s Gaels (11-9, 2-0) had the biggest move of the week, as they jumped four spots from last week to No. 6.

There was plenty of movement as the No. 2 Mount Royal (19-5, 4-0) and No. 3 Brock (18-2, 2-0) swapped places from last week. No. 4 UQAM (13-5, 4-0) moved up two spots, while Dalhousie (17-3, 4-1) moved down one spot to No. 5. No. 7 Winnipeg (18-6, 2-3) also dropped by two, and Manitoba (14-10, 2-2) remained at No. 8.

Two teams leaped into the ranking, including No. 9 UBC (18-6, 0-2) and No. 10 McGill (12-6, 2-3).

Playoffs continue as the No. 1 Spartans play the No. 2 Cougars in the Canada West final this Saturday. In the OUA Championship on Saturday, the No. 6 Gaels take on the No. 3 Badgers.

NOTE: Only teams still participating in conference playoffs or qualified for the U SPORTS championship are eligible to be listed in the U SPORTS playoff power rankings.
