Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball head coach Rick Scott is pleased to announce the commitment of Paris Stewart for the 2022-23 season.

A two-year member of Volleyball Nova Scotia’s provincial team, Stewart played for the 16U team in the summer of 2019 and the 18U team in the summer of 2021. She is also a starting middle for Citadel High School’s varsity volleyball team where she received the Coaches Award for her performance during the 2020-21 season.

In addition to these teams, the 6’0 middle has been a part of the 17U and 18U teams for the Tigers Volleyball Club the last two seasons.

“I am very excited to be joining the Dal women’s volleyball program because not only are they exceptionally talented athletes, but they are also amazing people,” says Stewart. “The girls have always welcomed me with open arms and have always made me feel comfortable. I can’t wait to play for Coach Scott and be a part of the family that is Dal Tigers!”

Stewart will graduate from Citadel High School in June 2022 and hopes to pursue a degree in cinema and media studies.

“We are thrilled to add Paris to our women’s volleyball program,” says Scott. “She is a physical, athletic, and talented player that brings a real positive energy to everything that she does. We had a front row seat to see her develop and improve within the Tigers Volleyball Club. We believe with continued hard work and commitment, she will develop into an important part of our program in the years ahead.”

The Tigers kick off the 2021-22 regular season at home playing host to the UNB Reds October 30.
