TORONTO – The Bold are pleased to announce the following student-athletes as the stars of the week, ending September 29.
Emily Di Natale – Women’s Soccer – 4th Year – Journalism
- Played all 90 minutes in the Bold’s 1-0 victory over Carleton on Saturday
- Controlled the midfield throughout the match
- Helped secure a clean sheet for the Bold
Abigail Dove – Golf – 2nd Year – Sport Media
- Delivered a solid performance with rounds of 83 and a bounce-back 77
- Finished T-6th at the challenging Cambridge Golf Club
- Completed the regular season with one victory and a scoring average of 79, making her a player to watch at the provincial championship
Jevontae Layne – Men’s Soccer – 3rd Year – Chang School
- Scored a hat trick to lead the Bold to a 3-0 win over No. 3-ranked Carleton
- Netted two goals through solo efforts and the third from an assist by Aidan Hugo
- Led the team with three shots, all on target and resulting in goals
Elisa Paolucci – Women’s Soccer – 4th Year – Sport Media
- Made seven saves to earn a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Carleton
- Contributed significantly to securing the victory
- Delivered a crucial game-saving stop in stoppage time to preserve the win
Akeim Villous – Men’s Soccer – Graduate Student – Urban & Regional Planning
- Started in midfield in the 3-0 win over No. 3-ranked Carleton
- Controlled the midfield, creating multiple opportunities for TMU’s attackers
- Played a key role in defending the lead and maintaining a clean sheet
Taylor Wenzel – Men’s Volleyball – 4th Year – Business Management
- Named MVP of the Humber Tournament
- Played every match as the setter for the Bold
- Led TMU to a 4-0 record in the tournament, finishing undefeated with a 12-0 set record
