BRANDON, Man. – The Bobcats dropped the season finale in straight sets to the No. 1 nationally ranked Trinity Western Spartans Saturday night at the HLC.
Set scores were 25-17, 25-12, 25-17.
Trinity stormed out of the gates in the first set and didn’t look back, jumping to leads in all three sets before closing the match out on an 11-3 run.
The Spartans entered the match with the top seed in Canada West already locked up and improved the program’s season record to 22-2. The Bobcats conclude the conference season winless at 0-24.
Trinity was led by Kristen Kampman’s double-double, which included match-highs in both kills (13) and digs (13).
Second year middle Kaylee Plouffe finished with 12 kills and three aces while Grace McGillvary and Payton Lightfoot both had nine kills.
The Bobcats were led by Carly Thomson’s double-double performance, as the second year setter finished with 13 assists and 11 digs.
Danielle Dardis led the offence with five kills.
