SPARTAN MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK | ANSELM REIN

LANGLEY, British Columbia– Trinity Western’s Anselm Rein (Erfurt, Germany) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after posting 12.86 assists per set, 0.71 aces per set, and .367 team-hitting percentage in a weekend sweep of the Calgary Dinos.
 
On Friday night the third-year setter finished the evening with the Spartans hitting at .420, with 43 set assists, two service aces, and five digs in the Spartans’ 3-0 sweep of the Dinos at the Jack Simpson Gym in Calgary, Alta.
 
On Saturday night the biology student led the team to a .357 hitting percentage, with 47 set assists, three service aces, six digs, and two blocks. In the Spartans’ 3-1 win in Calgary.
 
Rein finished the season leading Canada West in assists per set with 10.29, and service aces per set at 0.59.
 
The two wins moved the Spartans into third place in the Canada West final conference standings. TWU will now host the sixth-place Brandon Bobcats in a best-of-three series beginning Thursday, February 22 at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. Game times are set for 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday with Saturday’s game time to be determined. All games can be seen on Canada West TV.
