Robinson sets career-high kills as Badgers return to OUA action

ST. CATHARINES – The Brock men’s volleyball team battled to a 3-1 (25-20, 15-25, 25-27, 16-25) loss with the Nipissing Lakers in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) play at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Saturday, Jan. 7.
 
First-year outside hitter KJ Robinson racked seven of his career-high 12 kills in the first set as the Badgers recorded their best kill percentage, .273 (16-of-33), of the match.
 
Nipissing won the second set by 10 before Brock started a rally in the third yet ultimately dropped the set 27-25.
 
Third-year setter Grant Reddon contributed 31 assists while adding eight digs. Kyler Code and Sauli Lianga combined for 16 kills. Code and Jacob Ferland each added two aces. Lianga led the team in blocks.
 
The Lakers were led by Jackson Young who scored 17 kills for a .364 hitting percentage (17-of-33).
 
Brock will look to bounce back when they host the Nipissing Lakers again on Sunday, Jan. 8 at Bob Davis Gymnasium. The first serve is at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at University Tickets and the game is live streamed on OUA.tv.
