Recap: Women’s volleyball play final games against RSEQ competition, end 2023-24 season on home court

On Friday night the Gee-Gees women’s volleyball team took on the Montreal Carabins falling 3-0. Later in the weekend, Ottawa hosted the UQAM Citadins in their final match of the season, dropping 3-1.  

The Gee-Gees started their final weekend of play in Montreal. The Carabins were off to a quick start and maintained their momentum throughout the entire match. Taking the game 25-12, 25-12, and 25-17.

The Garnet and Grey were back on home court on Sunday to host the UQAM Citadins in their RSEQ finale. Both teams fought hard throughout all four sets, stringing together a tight score line.

Ottawa jumped to an early lead in the opening set, but UQAM snuck ahead to steal the first set 25-23. UQAM took the second in a similar fashion, earning a 25-22 win.

In another close battle, the Gee-Gees took earned a 25-22 win to force a fourth set. 

UQAM managed to get away with a 25-21 win to seal the victory at 3-1.

Audrey Odigie led the Gee-Gees with 21 kills. Nicole Hildebrand contributed six kills and four digs. 

Grace McKale logged six kills in her final match in the Garnet and Grey while contributing a service ace, four digs, and two blocks.

Next season, the Gee-Gees will be competing in the OUA.
