Queen’s Men’s Volleyball secured a 3-2 victory (18-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-19, 15-13) in their first road game of the season against the Brock Badgers.
In the win, the Gaels amassed 51 kills with a hit percentage of .340
After dropping the first set, Queen’s fought back to take the second, fourth, and fifth.
In the second set the Gaels built up a consistent lead, and while Brock attempted to chip away at the point differential, the Badgers were ultimately unsuccessful.
The third set was much like the first, with the Badger building up an early lead that the Gaels were unable to overcome.
In the fourth set, Gaels found their rhythm. The claimed a resounding 25-19 victory, and followed it up with a fifth set win to maintain their undefeated record.
Through out the match, the Gaels maintained a strong defensive presence at the net, putting up 18.5 blocks to Brock’s three.
Middles, Izaak Zabjek (Kinesiology) and Dax Tompkins led in blocks for the Gaels, amassing seven a piece.
Reed Venning (Arts & Science) also had a standout game for the Gaels with 27 points from 22 kills, three service aces, and four blocks.
With the win, the Gaels improve their record to 3-0.
