KINGSTON, Ont. (Jan. 13, 2023) – Queen’s Men’s Volleyball defeated the Windsor Lancers 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 34-32) Friday night at the Athletics and Recreation Centre in the first of two meetings with the Lancers this weekend.
After comfortable wins in the first two sets, the Gaels needed extra points to close out the Lancers in the third set, eventually getting past Windsor 34-32 to complete the straight sets win.
Zig Licis and Erik Siksna led the Gaels with 10 kills each, while Licis also recorded a team-high five digs and three blocks. Siksna added four blocks, two assists, and three aces in the win for Queen’s.
Lachlan McBride also had a strong showing for the Gaels on Friday, recording nine kills and three blocks while recorded a game-high 39 assists while adding five digs in the win.
With the win, Queen’s snapped a five-game losing streak in conference play and improved their record to 4-6. The Lancers fell to 8-2 with the loss.
The Gaels will host Windsor in the second half of their weekend doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. at the ARC. Tickets for the game can be purchased here.
