KINGSTON, Ont. (June 17, 2022) – Queen’s Women’s Volleyball’s Arielle Palermo started for Team Canada in their Volleyball Nations League (VNL) match against China on Friday.
Palermo (Burlington, Ont.), who plays left side hitter for the Gaels, played libero for Team Canada in the 3-1 (25-16, 18-25, 25-12, 25-18) loss to China, who are ranked No. 3 in the world.
Palermo finished the game with a team-high 19 digs while also adding seven sets, 19 receptions, and a kill from the libero position.
Palermo talked to GoGaelsGo.com last month about joining Team Canada ahead of the VNL competition.
Queen’s Gaels alumna Caroline Livingston also played for Canada in the match, finishing with seven points and one ace, while also adding 26 receptions, 10 digs, and two sets.
Canada is currently 10th in the VNL standings, having won three matches.
