Weekend Story
 
KAMLOOPS – It will come down to the very last games of the season for a Thompson Rivers WolfPack women’s volleyball team that hosts their final contests of 2023-24 inside the TCC this weekend.

The WolfPack (8-14) will host the Mount Royal Cougars (8-14) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. In a pair of games that will be incredibly crucial in the Canada West playoff picture.
 
Both the WolfPack and Cougars find themselves in a five-way tie for the eighth and final playoff spot. For TRU, they are trying to make a sixth appearance in the playoffs in program history.
 
TRU enters the weekend on the heels of a weekend sweep out on the road. The ‘Pack took down the Brandon Bobcats by scores of 3-1 and 3-0 in Brandon to make it six wins in the second semester for the squad.

The Cougars are one of the hottest teams in the conference having won six of their past eight games. Mount Royal didn’t drop a set last weekend as they took down the Regina Cougars by consecutive scores of 3-0 and 3-0 at home. 

Mount Royal won the two games that these teams played in Calgary last season although the ‘Pack took them to five sets on Friday night.
 
The WolfPack will honour graduating hitter Ema Palkovicova after their game on Friday night.
