Weekend Story
 
KAMLOOPS – It will be another hunt for an upset for a Thompson Rivers WolfPack women’s volleyball team that ends their first semester schedule with a pair of home games against the No. 1 ranked team in Canada inside the TCC.
 
The WolfPack (2-8) will host the Trinity Western Spartans (10-0) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The games will be the third-straight week that sees TRU take on a team ranked in the top 10 in the country.
 
A young TRU squad saw signs of growth in a pair of 3-1 losses to the No. 8 ranked Manitoba Bisons at home last weekend. TRU came within just one point of sending the game on Friday night to a fifth set.
 
TWU are undefeated on the season with 30 sets won and just seven sets loss so far this year. The Spartans took down the Saskatchewan Huskies in a pair of 3-1 victories in Langley last weekend.

The Spartans won both games that these teams played last season.

1: There will be hot food and a beer garden served up inside the TCC all season long.
 
2: Two of the WolfPack’s three CW regular season wins against the Spartans have come at home inside the TCC.
 
3: Entry to the games this weekend will be by donation! The WolfPack will be collecting donations and non-perishable goods to help support the Kamloops Food Bank through the annual Kamloops Transit Stuff the Bus event.
