With the win, the Pandas remain perfect on the season with a five-game win streak and sit on top of the Canada West Central Division standings. Meanwhile, the Dinos now have a 2-3 record on the season and are third in standings.
Leading the night for the home side was senior Kory White with 12 kills and seven digs, while Edan Wade had 24 assists on the night.
Across the court, the Dinos found success from rookie Regan Ingram who had eight kills and eight digs and second-year Stella Rains added 18 assists in the loss.
The night started out strong for both sides as they exchanged points, however it was the Pandas with the slight edge in the end, taking the set 25-23
Leading throughout the second, the Pandas were able to keep the momentum from their first set win, forcing the visitors to call a time with the Pandas leading 23-19. However, the timeout would prove to not make a difference as the Pandas Vanessa Jarman’s tip cross court sent the Dinos scrambling and ultimately falling behind two sets.
Jumping out to a quick lead, the home squad found themselves up 9-3 before the Dinos would call a timeout a few points later. However, the lead would be too much, as the Pandas secured the third and final set with a big kill from Meghan John for a 25-13 final set win.
Both teams will meet again tomorrow, with the first at 5:00 PM MT at Saville Community Sports Centre.
