The team behind Momentum Volleyball is proud to launch momentumvolleyball.ca as a one-stop shop for Canadian volleyball news. The website is the brainchild of Michael Amoroso and Parrish Offer, who after playing and coaching the game for years, saw a real need for a centralized platform to share volleyball news and resources in Canada. The duo began developing the new Momentum site during the pandemic with the goal of promoting every level of volleyball currently played by Canadians – from recreational to international.
“Momentum has always had a mission to grow the game of volleyball, a mission that was initially pursued through our camps programs and through working to send more athletes to play the game professionally. We saw an opportunity to not only fill a void in our country’s media coverage of volleyball, but to also use this platform to tell amazing stories, educate fans & coaches and to expand the horizons of how we think of volleyball in Canada.”
Michael Amoroso, Founder and CEO
Although one of the most participated in sports, volleyball has never received the level of media coverage many other popular sports in Canada garner. Momentum aims to change that with its unique online platform. The site will serve as a home for content creators looking to provide volleyball media, news, and resources to the masses.
“We have incredible volleyball minds in Canada, but there hasn’t been an all-encompassing platform to share it. I wanted to create something that resembled what the large North American sports have, but for the sport of volleyball, and uniquely Canadian focused.”
Parrish Offer, Chief Technology Officer
The Momentum site will offer both free and subscription-paid content that will allow for unique and in-depth volleyball story-telling and resource sharing with a focus on Canadian players, coaches and teams. The site hopes to become the voice of Canadian volleyball shared across the country and even around the world.
