GAME FLOW
Friday’s first set saw the Lancers and Bold battle hard with one another and kept it within close range of each other before late in the set the Lancers would find a way to break through and take the first set 25-22.
The second set saw the Bold starting off strong before the Lancers matched their intensity and were able to earn the lead and not look back cruising to a 25-17 set win and 2-0 advantage in the match.
Windsor would continue to control their home court despite another strong start by TMU to kick off the third set before the Lancers were able to ramp up their play and eventually close out the match in sweeping fashion with a 25-21 third set and 3-0 home opening match victory.
The next day, the Lancers started the first set closely contested again by the Bold before finding a way to remain in control and secure a 1-0 match advantage with strong consistent play down the stretch that allowed them to coast to a 25-16 first set win.
TMU would bring an elevated spirit into Saturday’s second set after making a couple of personnel changes which sparked new momentum and allowed them to stay within reach of the Lancers. The Bold appeared to be in good shape to extend the match before the blue and gold boys managed to get it going again to uplift themselves back into the set with strong steady play toward the latter portion of the set and close out on top with a 25-22 second set win to push the Bold to the brink down 2-0 to Windsor.
Saturday’s third set appeared similar to what was played previously that each team were within each other’s sights until the Lancers found a way to get it done at the tail end of the set despite being challenged by a resilient TMU squad. Windsor was able to secure the back-to-back win in Windsor with a 25-22 third set victory and earn their second straight 3-0 win over the Bold to start the season off 2-0 and flawless at home.
